Q & A

Q. Can I add or change routes locally?
A. You can decide on the route on the spot in consultation with the driver. Whether you have extra time and want to visit somewhere interesting, or you’re tired today and want to change today’s plans to tomorrow, or you spot wild elephants during transit and want to observe them, we’re happy to accommodate your preferences for a comfortable journey with our private car service.

Q. Will the local drivers also guide us?
A. In Sri Lanka, only qualified individuals are permitted to guide at tourist sites. All drivers we arrange are qualified and the pricing includes guide fees. While many tourist sites do not require a guide, if an entrance fee is applicable, it covers the guide’s entrance fee as well. Each location varies, so please feel free to consult with us if you have concerns.

Q. I’m worried about being overcharged when shopping.
A. Drivers also support purchases such as souvenirs, understanding local pricing for top-quality goods at local prices.

Q. How can I make payments?
A. Payments can be made to our domestic Internet bank from Japan. For international transfers, PayPal payments are also accepted.

Q. If I arrange a taxi with Sri Lanka Transport, how much will it cost?
A. When we arrange transportation only, it includes all expenses such as driver fees and gasoline costs. Additional costs may include your hotel stay (approximately 4,000 yen per night), meals (approximately 2,500 yen per day for three meals), entrance fees for tourist sites, and souvenirs. Even if you spend the entire day sightseeing, expect to spend around 10,000 yen per day, which should be sufficient for a fulfilling experience. We offer free consultations for specific pricing inquiries, so please feel free to contact us.

Q. Do I incur usage fees on days I do not use the taxi?
A. Drivers are based in Colombo, the capital with the airport. After dropping you off, they can return later to pick you up, calculating usage days until the driver returns home to Colombo. For example, if you arrange transportation for the first and tenth days of a 10-day trip, the driver will move on the second and ninth days, totaling four days of use. Even if you do not use a taxi on the third and fourth days of a six-day trip, driver expenses will incur usage fees. For peace of mind and safety, we ensure that drivers take adequate breaks, and we appreciate your understanding.

Q. Do I need a VISA?
A. To enter Sri Lanka, you need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). It’s easy to obtain by filling out a simple online form known as the ETA. If you’re unsure about English, we can arrange it on your behalf. Please feel free to consult with us for an estimate.
